COVID-19 - Corona Virus - What's it good for?

COVID 19- Corona Virus epidemic. An opportunity for change.
Corona virus, COVID-19 outbreak has caused many changes, in many industries, and it affects almost everyone on the globe.
Just as an example, On March 12-15, 2020, I was supposed to participate in the Tony Robbins Unleash The Power Within 4 day event in SAP Center, in San Jose, CA, along with other 14,000 people from around the world, but the Santa Clara County, (which San Jose is in) has banned gatherings of over 1000 people.
We don’t get to choose everything in life. Some external forces change our plans, but we can change the way we respond to events around us. One of the NLP Presuppositions is "Energy flows where attention goes". A notion that Tony Robbins uses as well. And If we change the focus from “Life is happening to me”, to “Life is happening for me”, we get to see some good things, and find some more of that.
So, what good comes out of the Corona virus?
1.
The virus is not discriminating based on race, gender, religion, origin or sexual orientation.
What a humble experience is that?
This is a reminder to all of us, that we are all just like anyone else. Humans. Isn’t it not?
A time for self-care, creativity and self-growth
2.
We tend to lead a very stressful life. May people spend hours on commute, waking up early, being alert on the roads, and returning late at night. Many times, the stress alone increases cortisol levels and weakens our immune system, and may we more prone to attract an ailment.
This is a great practice to use in any other time as well.
Out of social responsibility
to decrease the spread of the virus, more and more companies are requesting employees to work from home. This is a great opportunity for some self-care.
Instead of daily hours of commute, people get to sleep another hour, and get to be with their family more.
3. As the Corona Virus is spreading, we need to be more flexible, and demonstrate some personal responsibility
as well to help contain the disease.
Some good questions each one of us is encouraged to ask now are:
- Is it necessary? Do I have to be in a specific location?
- What are my alternatives?
This is a great practice to use in any other time as well.
As a holistic, result-oriented life coach, I get to help people who feel stuck, in any life area.
One of the reasons is that they see the problem, and don’t see other options.
I am used to working out 4-5 times a week in the gym.
Now, as we all need to reassess and adjust, I asked myself these two questions.
Now, as we all need to reassess and adjust, I asked myself these two questions.
The answer to the first question was:
- No. I don’t have to go to the gym.
But since my well-being is important to me, I asked myself the second question, and came up with an alternative: Walk down the trail behind my house, and add some home workout.
Now, I get to be part of nature. See the flowers bloom, watch the trees, hear the birds, and be thankful for life.
I invite you to practice asking these two questions,
and you may be surprised how creative you are, coming up with new ideas and solutions.
Please share here what are some of the benefits you have found following the new situation?

On this Independence Day, I wanted to take a moment to stress the importance of our personal independence on multiple levels, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Independence is a powerful concept that extends beyond freedom from external constraints. It encompasses cultivating a sense of control, self-efficacy, and aligning our lives with our true passions.
