Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can build up as a result of a real life event, or even just from a thought of not having control over our destiny. Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand.
When we're stressed, our cortisol levels rise, and weaken our immune system.
When we're stressed for long periods of time, we may experience various types of physical symptoms such as: low energy, headaches, upset stomach, aches, pains, tense muscles, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, insomnia, frequent colds and infections, and even loss of sexual desire and/or ability.
And although we cannot control everything, we still have the choice to allow ourselves to relax our mind and body, lower the stress hormone, and mentally boost our immune system for better function.
